31 Aug 2004 - Staselog Ltd improves Staselog Network Equalizer family

Staselog Ltd releases new version of Staselog Network Equalizer. This product is a bandwidth management appliance for professional use, such as operator and corporate networks.

The release 2.1 includes several new features, such as support for DiffServ and VLAN. Two new performance classes are introduced, NE10 with 10 Mbit/s and NE60 with 60 Mbit/s throughput. The new 10 Mbit/s performance class is intended especially for corporate networks.

In corporate networks, Staselog Network Equalizer ensures sufficient bandwidth for business critical applications, such as VoIP or ERP. It enables triple play services (data, voice and video) in conventional networks without the need to upgrade other existing network components. Staselog Network Equalizer allows network managers to see by whom, when and for which purpose the company network is being used.

In operator use, Staselog Network Equalizer solves congestion problems caused by peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic without need to positively identify and eliminate P2P. Thus, it is effective in case of encrypted connections, such as VPN. Staselog Network Equalizer is also a stateless firewall and traffic meter with fine granularity and high performance.

Staselog Network Equalizer operates as a transparent bridge, which enables instant installation and removal without any need to modify the network. It's extremely insensitive to overloading or hostile attacks, and it's capable of protecting network and servers from excessive loads.
