Staselog Releases New Models

Press Release February 9, 2006 - Free for immediate publication

The Staselog Network Equalizer model range got higher throughput ratings for the model year 2006. The top model reaches 1 Gbit/s capacity.

-We can further improve the throughput ratings for a single unit, if necessary. Furthermore, using multiple units in parallel gives potential for unlimited throughput, says Mr. Jarkko Niittylahti, the managing director of Staselog Ltd.

In 2006, the product range includes Staselog Diplomat and the Staselog Network Equalizer with models SNE10, SNE50, SNE100, SNE300, and SNE500.

Staselog Ltd is a Finnish company producing next generation bandwidth management appliances. The products solve congestion problems without limiting top rates of broadband connections or without limiting certain applications, such as P2P (peer-to-peer). Thus, the solution is capable of solving congestion problems due to next generation P2P, such as encrypted Bittorrent or Darknets. In addition to congestion elimination, the product serves as a platform for implementing subscriber-specific services.

-Staselog's technology is superior. We ensure bandwidth, the others limit it. The top connection rates could be increased 100 times. And a single device is capable to handle all the network hierarchy. The applied dynamical control allows placing the bandwidth to where it really counts at all times. If somebody is not using all the allocated bandwidth, the unused bandwidth is instantly reallocated to the other users. The unique packet-based approach doubles the network capacity, minimizes the delay and eliminates the jitter. For a subscriber, this means guaranteed bandwidth at all times and extra bandwidth when needed. For the operator, it means better broadband that can handle all the emerging applications and enables new business models, says Mr. Niittylahti.

Staselog's reference TOASNet is upgrading the connection rates. The old SNE200HA is also upgraded to SNE500HA. -The bandwidth price is so low that we can make a significant increase in the uplink capasity. We still offer the best broadband and the lowest price for our students, says the maintenance manager Mr. Pasi Mäkinen of TOASNet.

TOASNet was nominated as the "Network Solution of the Year 2003" by Elisa, the largest broadband operator in Finland. Before 2003, there were 3000 subscribers and now there are 6000 university students.
