20 Nov 2009 - Iisalmen Puhelin getting a top-notch broadband provisioning system
Iisalmen Puhelin Oy is purchasing a modern broadband provisioning
system. The IP-based system automates broadband delivery to the
customers who will eventually receive broadband internet service
faster. Automatization reduces installation work and enables more
comprehensive broadband services.
-New system reduces costs and creates opportunities for better
service. Long-term goal is that the customer can deploy the broadband
instantly e.g. via self-service. In addition the customer can get
movies and other services through the same wire, regardless of the
speed of the internet connection, says Kimmo Kauppinen from Iisalmen
Puhelin.
-We have supplied this system to Finnet companies and other agile
operators, says product manager Mika Torhola from Atostek Oy.
-We have developed provisioning together with Atostek Oy for many
years. StaseGovernor system definitely represents the state of the art
in this area. We can happily note that this purely Finnish product is
really competitive, praises technology leader Timo Hopponen from
Mikkelin Puhelin Oy.
-IP-based provisioning solution is technically more flexible than
traditional solutions: the same provisioning system can be used with
all access techniques in operator's regional network, regardless of
access technology. Also adapting the provisioning to the existing
devices and systems is easier, says Jarmo Harju, professor of
telecommunications from Tampere University of Technology.
